ILFARM's aim is to create, for the first time in Italy, a company specialized in the breeding of leeches H. medicinalis and H. verbana, which will have important implications in the economic, scientific and ecological fields.
The team
Passion for leeches
Since 2017 he has been Associate Professor at the University of Insubria at the Department of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. His research uses the most advanced techniques in the field of optical and electronic microscopy and is focused on the processes that regulate the immune response and tissue regeneration.
Prof.ssa Grimaldi A.
Associate Professor of Genetics at the Department of Biotechnology and Life Sciences - University of Insubria. For years he has focused his interest on the genetics of complex human diseases, such as cancer, arteriosclerosis and congenital heart disease, developing numerous animal models generated with modern genetic engineering techniques.
Prof. Acquati F.
PhD in Biotechnology, Biosciences and Surgical Techniques. His research activity is mainly based on the use of optical and electronic microscopy. Furthermore, over the years he has also developed skills in the field of molecular biology and bioinformatics.
Dr. Baranzini N.
He obtained his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Insubria University of Varese. His activity concerns the fields of optical, confocal, electronic microscopy as well as molecular biology.
